We build unique mobile robot systems: Research platforms, moving furniture/cabinets as well as other mechatronic products. Our clients are research groups, museums, theatres, event and film teams and also industrial companies.

This unique specimen named Daryl was engineered and built entirely by Robonaut for Social Robotics Laboratory, University Freiburg, DE. Formfabrik was the design partner for this very compact mobile robot.
It is a mobile robot with parallel wheel configuration and with 4 degrees of freedom for its head movement. Movable ears, cameras, sound system are only a few features of the very versatile platform. The challenge was to pack all the modules into the very limited space. Two built-in laser scanners are used to navigate. Unique multi-directional bumpers, with a slim and pleasing design, make adequate safety possible. All sensors and actuators are CAN based. Robonaut’s robotic control unit and software builds the base for the sophisticated future research software. |
